This biography is part of a series of historical obituaries, originally published in print. Richard Abbott, MD, was born in London, and on the 2nd January, 1662, being then forty-one years of age, was inscribed on the physic line at Leyden, preparatory to taking his degree of doctor of medicine in that university, which he did on the 17th of the same month. He was admitted a Licentiate of the College of Physicians 25th June, 1663.
