Get a taste of the Royal College of Physicians fascinating 500 year history as you explore our award-winning building with an expert guide.

We will share the origins of the RCP, how our collections were used by physicians in the past and stories about medical theory from throughout the history of medicine.

If you can't make it along this month don't worry, we give these free taster tours once every month, usually on the first Wednesday (please note this tour is on the second Wednesday on this ocsasion!). Places are limited so please do book a free spot in advance.

Mission Statement

The history of medicine is the history of life and death, and we are all connected to it. Founded in 1518 by King Henry VIII, the Royal College of Physicians has spent over five centuries changing medicine and working for patients and doctors. It is our mission to engage, inspire and entertain people with the history of medicine and the importance of physicians within it.
