RCP Museum Late: medical books
5.30 - 8pm
Royal College of Physicians Museum
A facsimile of the open pages of a large book on anatomy showing a title page and image of a human skeleton next to rhino.

For centuries physicians have prided themselves on their studious character and technical knowledge gleaned from libraries of books. But what was in the medical textbooks studied by luminaries such as William Harvey in the past? Join us to discover doctors reading in multiple languages, the medical curriculum of the 16th century, revision notes from the 1940s, and the books that everyday people used to look after their own health, too.

While you're here, peek inside the pages of the library's largest - and most spectacular - book, an anatomical atlas from 1749.
